I've come up with a new plan for the process of potty-training Hayden. Because he just doesn't seem interested in initiating going by himself, and because it is just simply too frustrating for me to keep forcing him to go every half an hour to hour (with him crying and screaming and mad at me), I have decided I'm not forcing him anymore. He has made absolutely no progress with this "method" anyway. I think he's well aware of what it means to go potty in the potty (afterall he can both pee and poo in there when he wants to!), I think he is "trained". At this point it's just him deciding he wants to.
So, I bought some waterproof training pants (very expensive!) as well as some plastic covers to go over his regular underwear. I am going to start putting those on him and not force him to go anymore. If he wants to sit in wet underwear, that is his call. I will keep reminding him and give him positive encouragement, but no more forcing him. I am hoping this will help him decide he wants to go and will cause him to start going on his own. Also, it will cut down on the "accidents" he has all over the carpet, as well as cut down on my frustration.
I also am going to start full-out training Theo in about a month and half (as soon as Brandon goes on break). I am encouraging him to go right now, just not actually putting him in underwear yet. He hasn't actually gone in the potty yet - but he sits on it all the time and takes his diaper off all the time. I am hoping that if Theo makes progress in potty-training that Hayden will see this and want to be more like his brother lol. We'll see, that might be a far-fetched hope. But who knows.
