A Couple Other Things

Well, I still have not heard from the doctor's office, and I'm still slightly nervous about that fetal abnormality thing. But I have pretty much talked myself into believing that it really didn't mean anything, or the doctor would have told me, or they would have called a long time ago if there actually was a problem. I am thinking of calling them and asking exactly what my results were on the NT scan. I don't think they were bad - the doctor who did the scan did not give the impression there was anything wrong and I truly think if there had been something wrong, he would not have made me wait 3 weeks until my next appointment (which was yesterday) to find out.

Anyway, I wanted to bring up a couple other things - first, my next ultrasound is on October 13th, I will be 20 weeks. I'm excited to find out the gender, and also very anxious to hear that the baby looks alright.

Second, another thing I noticed on that paper I accidentally brought home yesterday, is that there is a place where it says: Sex, M/F, and the M is the one indicated. This COMPLETELY caught me off guard. So now I'm wondering - do they already know it's a boy? Of course, I am already feeling disappointed because I have wanted a girl so badly. But, that is the main reason I am finding out the gender before he/she is born this time, because I want to be at peace with whatever it is and not be disappointed or sad at the birth. I want the birth to be a completely happy experience. But, back to the M thing - I can't believe they would know what it is yet, and even if they did, I don't think they would have not told me. The only time I think they could have known would have been at my last ultrasound (at 11 weeks 6 days), and the doctor never said anything about it looking like a boy. He asked me what gender I wanted, and I said a girl, and he kept saying "Look at HER stretching out her legs! SHE is sure moving a lot!". He was kind of joking about it and it was totally lighthearted, so if he had known, or tried to check, wouldn't he have told me? He wouldn't have been joking it was a girl if he truly thought it was a boy? The other thing that has me confused, is I remember my doctor saying that they DO NOT record gender if the parents do not want to know. She said they do this so that there is no way of any of the nurses or doctors slipping up and accidentally informing the parents if they want it to be a surprise. So I find it hard to believe that they would have already recorded it's a boy without asking me first. Brandon says maybe they just put boy as the default, or maybe it's my gender and they accidentally put male instead of female haha :) But anyways, seeing that has totally got me believing I'm having  a third boy, but maybe, just maybe it will be a girl. We will know in 5 weeks! Yay!! I'm not even thinking about names until we know.
