Appointment Today

I had an appointment today with the nurse practitioner (32 weeks now!). I actually really like her - she's the same one I've seen throughout all my pregnancies (except one time I had to see a different one). But she's really upbeat and always joking. I remember not liking her much the first time I saw her with Hayden, but she's definitely grown on me. And she is so FAST! I never have to wait a long time to see her like I do the doctor - she always comes in quickly and chats away, but I never feel rushed like I sometimes do with the doctor, too.

Anyway, I lost 2 pounds since my last appointment on December 6th and when she came into the room the first thing she said was "You are the only patient I have who has actually lost two pounds after a whole month of holidays and being pregnant. Haha. I told her about how sick I got last week and how I was throwing up for a good 12 hours and couldn't really eat much for several days afterwards. I think that's why I lost weight. I'm sure that the next 6-8 weeks I will probably have my usual trouble with gaining too much. My total so far is 22 lbs, which really isn't that bad. The baby sounded fine today and they made me an appointment with my actual doctor (gasp!) in 2 weeks, but there was only one available appointment so I had to take that one. It's been forever since I've seen her. Apparently her son got married, and then she took 2 successive vacations in the last 3 months and she is finally "back" and is completely booked up. All I'm hoping is that she is done now with her vacations and will be around when my baby is born! She better not be going on vacation in February or I will not be happy!

So, all is still well and I'm becoming increasingly excited about having a new baby. I'm so excited to have a girl and can't wait to see what she looks like. Brandon and I have come a little further on names - I *think* we have one or 2 that we kind of agree on (I need to double check with him lol). My mom has decided she wants to do a baby shower at the end of this month for me, which I am truly thankful for because although I have plenty of baby stuff, I have only a small bag of girl stuff that people have given me - and I don't really feel like I have the money to buy anything girl. So I'm hoping this help me feel a little more prepared for a baby girl!
