8 weeks

So I'm 8 weeks pregnant today. I found out about a month ago. I'm happy, and stressed. I've decided I'm not going to announce it on facebook - at least not for a long time - because I know how sensitive to facebook announcements many people are. But I want to be able to talk about it somewhere - so I guess this is the place to do it.

I was feeling really sick last week (in addition to the nausea that started about 2 weeks ago). I had a fever, bad headaches, and stomachaches with a little diarrhea, so I completely convinced myself I had toxoplasmosis. That was what prompted me to go to the doctor - so I went on Friday. She doesn't think I have toxoplasmosis, but she ordered the blood test for me anyway. I called yesterday and the results were in, but she hadn't reviewed them yet so the nurse said I'd get a call after the doctor reviewed them. I'm still waiting...

My doctor said I felt about 8 weeks pregnant, and she graciously allowed me to skip my pap smear again (I'm terrified of bleeding). She said she'd do one at 12-14 weeks. I'd still prefer to wait longer than that, but it's ok.

The due date is February 27th (doctor's office) or 28th (my own belief)... so basically the end of February.

In other news, my friend Jennifer had her baby boy today! I don't know the details, but I'm super happy for her because she's been so excited waiting to meet him!
