My Family: Hayden is 18 months old!

Well, it's been a while. I can't say that I have even begun to do as good a job at this blogging thing as I hoped... but I can keep trying. I think a large part of my slacking was being sick all the time so hopefully that will change... but we shall see.

So Hayden turned 18 months on Monday! Unbelievable how fast time has gone. He is talking a lot now, well certain words anyway. Hot is probably his favorite word, along with juice, cheese and "side", meaning outside. He loves to go outside. It almost always makes him happy if we just open the door when he's getting bored or fussy.

We went camping 2 weeks ago in the Sequoia's National Park. That was hard with a one and a half year old! He had fun most of the time, but we had to put him on his monkey leash tied to a tree for a while so we could get set up and take stuff down. He was happy until his leash ran out... then he was screaming. It was really difficult, I doubt we will go camping with any more kids if any of them are this age (or unless there's a larger group of people!).

For the 4th of July we went to my parents house 2 hours away. Nothing special really, but we got to hang out with Grandma Clarice, Grandpa Dave, and Uncle Justin (my brother). Uncle Justin did most (or all?) of the firework setting off, but we did let Hayden do a couple sparklers under very close supervision. He got a little fussy towards the end.

As for me, I'm feeling 90-95% better. I am soooo happy about that. I'm about 15-16 weeks now, and I can't believe it's taken me an extra 4-5 weeks of sickness compared to with Hayden! I was beginning to wonder if it would ever end. Since this past weekend I've been feeling good most the time, and when I do start feeling a tad bit nauseous, all I have to do is eat a little and I feel completely better... so nice!
